Windar Renovables Manufacturing Plant

Development of multi-disciplinary design documentation for the project: “Construction of a plant for the production of wind farm components on a section of plot No. 4/12 on Ostrów Grabowski Island.”

The factory complex will feature a main building housing four production lines dedicated to the manufacturing of wind towers, a raw materials warehouse, and assembly halls for internal components. Additionally, a 100-space parking lot and access roads will be constructed. The plant will specialize in the production of wind towers with non-standard diameters and is expected to create job opportunities for approximately 400 people.

Industria developed the comprehensive multi-disciplinary design documentation and provides investor supervision for the Windar Renovables manufacturing plant on Ostrów Grabowski Island in the Port of Szczecin. The investment has become one of the most critical projects supporting the development of the offshore wind sector in Poland and Europe.

The factory was designed to manufacture large-scale towers for next-generation offshore wind turbines. The main building, spanning over 47,000 m², accommodates four production lines, four industrial bays, and a raw materials warehouse. The project also incorporates assembly halls, over 3 hectares of storage yards, road infrastructure, and a 100-space parking lot.

A central challenge was designing the infrastructure to support the manufacturing of oversized offshore structures – components reaching up to 10 meters in diameter, 50 meters in height, and weighing up to 450 tons. Located directly adjacent to port infrastructure, the site enables the use of maritime transport, which is essential for handling components of this scale.

The project required advanced multi-disciplinary coordination, the integration of manufacturing and logistics processes, and the adaptation of the facility to the demands of modern offshore industry. Industria utilized a BIM approach to support design information management, mitigate collision risks, and streamline the coordination of this highly complex investment.
