Industria developed comprehensive multi-disciplinary design documentation for the investment project “Extension of the Dworzec Drzewny Quay at the Port of Gdańsk.” The project formed a key element in the expansion of port infrastructure, enhancing handling capacity while improving maritime transport servicing and the port’s logistical hinterland.

The scope of work encompassed the preparation of a replacement building design, executive design, technical specifications for execution and acceptance of works, as well as author’s supervision during project implementation. Documentation was prepared across all engineering disciplines essential for the realization of a hydrotechnical structure and its associated infrastructure.

The centerpiece of the investment was the construction of a 1,103-meter-long cargo handling quay featuring a design depth of 12.25 meters. The facility was designed to withstand high operational loads characteristic of modern port terminals, including the operations of LHM 600 mobile harbor cranes.

The project also involved the construction of traffic areas and technical infrastructure necessary to service handling processes. The total quay area exceeded 27,600 m², with its technical specifications enabling intensive logistical operations within the Port of Gdańsk.

As part of the development, power supply networks with site lighting, sanitary and stormwater drainage, and a firewater system were designed. The infrastructure was tailored to the operational demands of a port facility operating continuously 24/7.

A key design challenge was integrating the requirements of hydrotechnical, structural, civil/road, and MEP engineering into a unified infrastructure facility. Particular importance was attached to ensuring the appropriate technical parameters of the quay to accommodate heavy handling equipment and intensive transport traffic.
