Industria developed comprehensive design documentation for an investment encompassing the construction of a heavy steel structure fabrication plant, complete with manufacturing, technological, and administrative infrastructure. The project was designed to accommodate advanced manufacturing processes for large-scale steel structures utilized in the industrial and offshore sectors.
The centerpiece of the investment was a production hall equipped with a high-capacity overhead crane system, featuring five 100-ton cranes, five 25-ton cranes, and one 20-ton crane. The scope of the project also included an anti-corrosion process hall equipped with a 25-ton overhead crane, as well as office and staff/social facilities serving plant operations.
Industria also developed the design for a dedicated anti-corrosion line hall, the redevelopment of the paint shop hall, and the expansion of the technological trestle within the manufacturing plant site. The project required integrating advanced technological processes, internal transport, and infrastructure supporting the production of heavy steel structures.
A key challenge was designing a facility tailored for handling components of significant dimensions and weight, while ensuring high efficiency in production and logistical processes. Structural coordination between the hall’s framework, crane systems, manufacturing technology, and anti-corrosion protection systems was of paramount importance.
The project demanded multi-disciplinary coordination spanning architecture, structural engineering, MEP (mechanical, electrical, plumbing), and industrial engineering. Industria utilized a BIM digital design environment to support design information management, clash detection, and the integration of industrial infrastructure with the plant’s manufacturing processes.
This investment stands as an example of designing advanced industrial facilities for the heavy steel fabrication sector, where structural load capacities, technological transport organization, and manufacturing process safety play a critical role.
